In the beginning...

(the back-story)

Hi my name is Samantha. My husband, Forrest, and I met in KY where we went to high school and college and got married at 19 (no we weren't pregnant! lol). While in college we did a study abroad semester in Spain (and got the itch to return to Europe someday). When we graduated we moved to Huntsville, AL and loved it. We both found great jobs with awesome people and made great friends and adopted our "furbaby" Rufio (yes he is named after the kid with the mowhawk on "HOOK" - the worlds best Peter Pan movie EVER ). When Forrest's job in the government opened the door to living in Europe for a few years, we were sad to leave our friends and families back in the states, but decided when better to go? (since we weren't pregnant and had no kids) so we took the job. Little did we know that...

 I was PREGNANT!! Who would have guessed?!?! We had been trying for 2 YEARS!!!

We have now been married for more than 6 years and have "settled" into our rental home in Waldenbuch, Germany - home of RitterSport (AMAZING) chocolate, awaiting the arrival of our bouncing baby boy and navigating the uncharted waters of Deutschland (OK maybe an exaggeration).

Now, we are finally making our way into the blogging world at the annoyingly persistent gentle nudging of my dear, sweet husband. This blog is intended for family and friends to keep up with us as we have our adventures in Germany as well as the arrival and development of our 1st baby (due to make his appearance in mid-January) I hope to keep this blog as up-to-date as possible and to share our experiences. Bear with us as we attempt to explore this beautiful land of schnitzel and Octoberfest and survive our journey into parenthood. This should be FUN!!
